Holidays and New Moons 2004-2005

These are dates of this year's Holidays according to the true Biblical Calendar, based on the Abib (ripening barley) and crescent New Moon.

March 23rd was the 1st day of the biblical calendar year, based on the finding of Abib.  See the Karaite’s website for information about Abib (barley)   http://www.karaite-korner.org/abib.shtml. Also for Abib FAQ   http://www.karaite-korner.org/abib_faq.shtml#top

1st Day of Unleavened Bread: Tuesday, April 6th 2004 (beginning April 5th at sunset)
7th Day of Unleavened Bread: Monday, April 12th 2004 (beginning April 11th at sunset)

The New Moon (Crescent) was sighted on Wednesday September 15, 2004

The New Moon for the 7th Biblical Month was a borderline sighting, meaning that using modern visibility prediction models it was uncertain whether or not the moon would have been visible on September 15, 2004.  Using raw observation, the moon was  observed on the night of September 15, which starts the day of September 16th.  For more information on borderline moons see: http://www.israelofgod.org/newmoonpv.htm.

Feast of Trumpets: Thursday, September 16th 2004 (beginning September 15th at sunset)
Day of Atonement: Saturday, September 25th 2004 (beginning September 24th at sunset)
First Day of Feast of Tabernacles: Thursday, September 30th 2004 (beginning September 29th at sunset)
